If surfing is what you came for our crew at Toska Mentawai will make sure that you’re out there for as many waves possible. We offer 2 trips daily to any of the 10+ surf spots in our vicinity. There are waves for intermediate and advanced surfers. Our local guide will help you out with knowledge and make sure your surf time is maximized at the best spot for that day. Surf season runs from March through October, but the Indian Ocean can serve up perfection during any month of the year.
This world class spot is the best wave in the area. A solid swell can produce 200 meters of fast sections and perfect tubes which can be surfed on all tides. Telescopes is more user friendly than most waves of this caliber and can be surfed by all skill levels up to head high. With a bit of luck you might have some of the best waves of your life at Telly’s.
This is called Suicides by many locals and surf operators. It’s a fun right in the channel near Toska that needs medium to high tide. A playful, rippable wall that is very consistent during the surf season. Wear your reef booties.
The most consistent spot in the Central Mentawai. South swell comes out of deep water and throws a lefthand ledge. Surfable almost everyday at any tide. When Icelands is small it is suuitable for all skill levesl, but at size this is a legitimate “big wave” that can hold 20 foot+ faces.
A sectiony, fast right that likes mid to outgoing tide. Tidur is consistent during the season. Keep an eye on it from Toska.
Approximately 45 minutes by boat from Toska. This left picks up more swell than Telescopes and also has some classic barrel sections and rippable walls. Scarecrows is a world class wave when everything comes together. Note: A fuel surcharge may be added for boating here due to the longer distance.
A racy, fun left that can produce quality sections with more size. Tikus is enjoyed by surfers of all skill levels.
A short, shallow left in front of Toska that needs high tide and solid swell to produce a fun section.
